Mechanics Bank appoints David Sway as Treasurer

Mechanics Bank has appointed fixed-income and banking veteran David Sway as treasurer. He brings 25 years of experience in investments, treasury, trading, and cash and portfolio management.

Sway is responsible for managing the Bank’s excess liquidity, investment portfolio, interest-rate risk profile, liquidity, and Deposit Rate Committee.

Prior joining Mechanics Bank, he held leadership roles at Bank of the West for 14 years, most recently managing and trading the bank’s $19-billion investment portfolio.

Earlier in his career, Sway was a trader for an institutional broker-dealer and an asset-management firm.
