Mechanics Bank’s Tony Kallingal Joins the Board of Walnut Creek Downtown

Tony Kallingal, Mechanics Bank Senior Vice President and Regional Manager, Commercial Banking Group, has joined the board of Walnut Creek Downtown (WCD), a coalition of over 650 businesses that works to promote and enhance business vitality primarily within the downtown. WCD Executive Director Kathy Hemmenway, says Kalingal embodies “the spirit of community and brings talent, expertise and energy to the table.”

Mr. Kalingal joins a board of 17 local business and nonprofit executives who lead the organization’s pursuit of initiatives designed to enhance the downtown through special events, marketing opportunities for members and by advocating on behalf of the downtown business community.

A prominent East Bay volunteer for decades, Mr. Kallingal received the Western Bankers Association Banker of the Year Award in 2018.  He joined Mechanics Bank in January 2001.
