Sending Secure Emails
We offer a secure channel for exchanging confidential information (e.g. social security numbers, bank account numbers, financial statements) via the internet called Secure Mail. To get started, all you need is an Internet connection, a web browser that supports 128-bit SSL encryption and a Mechanics Bank Secure Mail account.

How Secure Email Works
When we send you a secure email message, the message is sent to a secure data center where it will be held for you to retrieve. At the same time, you will receive a notification message informing you that a Mechanics Bank Secure Mail message is waiting to be retrieved. The notification message will contain a link to a secure website. Simply click on the link, log into the secure website and retrieve your message. This is a two-way system so you can use Secure Mail to send your confidential information to a Mechanics Bank recipient.
How To Create Your Account
The first time you use Mechanics Bank Secure Mail, you will be prompted to create an account. You will need to supply your email address and create a password to establish your account. You will use this password each time you log into Mechanics Bank Secure Mail. A confirmation message will be sent to the email address you entered. You will need to click on the link in the confirmation email to complete the account setup process. You can then begin using your Mechanics Bank Secure Mail account.
Sending A Secure Email Message
To send a Secure Mail message to a Mechanics Bank email address, click on the Secure Mail Login button on this page. You will be taken to the login screen where you will be prompted to enter your email address and password that you established. Once logged in, you can create a new Secure Mail message by clicking on the "Compose" tab.
Retrieving a Secure Email Message
When the Bank sends you a secure email message, you will receive a notification message via standard email. Click on the link contained in the notification message to be taken to the login screen where you will be prompted to enter your email address and password that you established. Once logged in, you can read your Mechanics Bank Secure Mail, download it to your computer or send a secure reply message.
