SAN FRANCISCO, CA, September 29, 2010 – Bill Espey has joined the Mechanics Bank Wealth Management Group as a Private Banking Senior Relationship Manager in the San Francisco Office.
Before joining Mechanics Bank, Bill was a Managing Director for First Republic Wealth Advisors LLC. He also spent six years with Wells Fargo Private Banking and nine years with Citigroup Private Bank, where he provided investment management, capital markets advisory services, trust services, and credit services.
His background also includes stints as a cowboy, horse trainer, farmer, soda fountain operator, martial arts instructor and community college instructor.
Espey’s many community commitments include Berkeley Repertory Theatre, where he chairs the Investment Committee and Planned Giving Committee, and is a member of the Executive, Finance, and Trustee Selection Committees. He also is a current member of the Professional Advisor Committee of the East Bay Community Foundation and the CFA Society of San Francisco, and a retired member of Toastmasters International, where he holds the distinction of having won eight Toastmaster sponsored public speaking contests.
A graduate of Northwest Missouri State University, Espey holds an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University. He has maintained the Chartered Financial Analyst designation since 2000 as well as the FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities licenses.
Espey and his wife, Margaret Hart Edwards, have lived in Lafayette for over 20 years with their children, John and Audrey.
