Working Solutions to Highlight Availability of Micro Lending to Small Bay Area Businesses at Annual Breakfast

San Francisco, March 19, 2010 -- Brian Pretti, senior vice president and head of investment management at Mechanics Bank, will be the keynote speaker at the annual breakfast of Working Solutions, a nonprofit organization that provides micro-loans, educational services and technical support to businesses that otherwise might not have access to credit.

Pretti, an economist who has spoken before dozens of Bay Area organizations, will speak about the economy’s impact on lending to businesses.

The San Francisco-based micro lender is looking to build awareness at its Annual Breakfast to be held on March 25, 2010 at the City Club in San Francisco.

“We often refer potential borrowers to Working Solutions,” said Magdalena Del Valle, Vice President & Sr. Relationship Manager at Mechanics Bank, “and we contribute to their loan funds and operations. We think they provide a tremendous solution for businesses too small or too new to qualify for conventional bank loans or even SBA financing. When we can’t accommodate a good borrower, we try to provide other options.”
