Streamlining unit operations

Richmond, CA, July 29, 2010 -- The Corporate Banking Group at Mechanics Bank today announced several executive promotions as part of a reorganization of its commercial real estate lending and commercial and industrial loan areas.

Real Estate Industries Group Senior Vice President Caroline Sjostedt will head all commercial real estate lending with the exception of SBA loans. She will report to Clay Jackson, who joined Mechanics Bank earlier this year as Executive Vice President - Corporate Banking. Sjostedt’s new management responsibilities will include oversight of Napa and the Sacramento area. Sjostedt joined Mechanics Bank in early 2009.

Dave Zitterow, Senior Vice President Commercial Lending Group, becomes head of all Commercial & Industrial lending including SBA loans, also reporting to Clay Jackson. The added oversight responsibilities include San Francisco Corporate Banking, Corporate Banking Operations, and Treasury Management. Zitterow joined Mechanics Bank in 2007.

Kelly Attebery has been promoted to Senior Vice President - Corporate Banking Manager. She previously had been a vice president in the same department. Attebery has been with Mechanics Bank since 1990.

Gary Staring has been promoted to Senior Vice President – Consumer and Equipment Finance. Staring joined Mechanics Bank in 1999.
