Richmond Chamber of Commerce, local businesses, discuss how to promote city

Richmond, CA, August 19, 2010 -- Mechanics Bank will be one of the sponsors of the first Richmond Economic Summit Conference, bringing together the business community, city government and Richmond residents to discuss how best to promote the City of Richmond and its economic development. The event takes place from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14 at the Richmond Memorial Auditorium and Convention Center, 403 Civic Center Plaza, Richmond, California.

Among the highlights of the conference are a presentation by Christopher Thormberg, Beacon Economics, discussing the state’s and Richmond’s key economic indicators; a look at some Richmond business success stories; a networking luncheon that includes a brainstorming session about how to encourage more economic development; and a frank discussion on taxes and their impact on growth.

The event is followed by a free business exposition sponsored by the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, which takes place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Richmond’s many diverse businesses are invited to display information about their company’s products and services.
