Richmond, CA, July 20, 2010 -- Darren Peterie, a seasoned mortgage lending expert, has joined Mechanics Bank’s Wealth Management Group as a private banker in the Napa Private Banking Office.

Peterie began his banking career as a wholesale mortgage consultant in the Napa Office of World Savings. Four years later, with the merger of World Savings and Wachovia Bank, Darren moved from the wholesale operations to supporting Wachovia’s retail offices in the Napa Valley. When Wachovia was acquired by Wells Fargo Bank, he was assigned to mortgage originations in Napa, Yountville, and Sonoma, the position he held before joining Mechanics Bank.

“Darren’s strong connections in the Napa community combined with his solid background in mortgage lending are important to our goal of cultivating banking relationships we hope will last for generations,” said Thomas Kawazoe, Vice President – Private Banking Manager in Napa Valley.

A resident of Sonoma, Peterie is a member of the North Bay Association of Realtors, the Napa and Sonoma Chapter of Realtors, and the Napa, Yountville, and Sonoma Chambers of Commerce.
