DEL VALLE MOVES TO CORPORATE BANKING DIVISION OF MECHANICS BANK AS SENIOR RELATIONSHIP MANAGER
San Francisco, CA, October 11, 2007—Magdalena Del Valle has moved to the Corporate Banking Division of Mechanics Bank as Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager. She formerly was Vice President and Area Manager-Metro Area in the Retail Banking Division.
Ms. Del Valle’s new responsibilities will be focused on developing customer relationships with middle market Commercial and Industrial clients for loans, treasury management and deposit products.
Ms. Del Valle has 28 years of banking experience, including nearly two decades in corporate and middle market lending. Prior to joining Mechanics Bank, she helped launch United American Bank in San Mateo, CA, a successful denovo bank where she served as Senior Vice President and Manager of Marketing, Cash Management and Deposit Services. Prior to that, she was Vice President and Regional Sales Manager for United California Bank in San Francisco, with oversight of 23 Bay Area Branches with deposits aggregating over $702 million.
She also has held senior positions with WestAmerica Bank in Walnut Creek, California; Sumitomo Bank in Los Angeles, California; Community Bank in Pasadena, California; Bank of The West, Oakland/San Francisco, California; and First Interstate Bank in Los Angeles, California.
“When she joined Mechanics Bank in 2003,” said Mike Popovich, Senior Vice President, Corporate Banking, “Magdalena was assigned to help the bank open a San Francisco location. It was one of the bank’s first expansions west from our traditional East Bay stronghold, and she was a tremendous asset in getting it off the ground. Because of her strong commercial lending background and understanding of the needs of middle and upper-middle market companies, she is a natural addition to the Corporate Banking Division.”
“My goal is to identify all aspects of the client relationship where Mechanics Bank can truly add value,” said Ms. Del Valle. “Being a trusted financial partner is more about understanding the history and dynamics of a company and its owners, being there for them when it counts, and consistently delivering high quality service. I have experience in and truly enjoy dealing with unique industries like contractors, digital/media, property management companies and public relations/advertising and marketing companies. We have the financial strength and staying power to be that trusted financial partner for them, yet we are local and community-based so we can also think outside the box when necessary. It’s a powerful combination in today’s turbulent financial climate.”
Ms. Del Valle, who is a member of the Advisory Board of the San Francisco Center for Economic Development, and a member of the San Francisco Financial Women’s Association, is a graduate of the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, and a resident of Moraga, CA. Outside of work, she enjoys travel and family related activities with her 11 year old daughter.
Mechanics Bank is headquartered in Richmond, California. The century-old family-owned community bank is one of the largest independent banks headquartered in Northern California, with more than $2.7 billion in assets.
